RegnskapsPartner moves 100 clients to Siffer

How can we make it even easier for small businesses and sole proprietorships to keep their books in order? That was the question RegnskapsPartner AS asked themselves, and the answer was to move 100 clients from their previous accounting software over to Siffer.

The accounting firm RegnskapsPartner AS is based in Øvre Romerike and has six employees and around 230 clients. They were increasingly seeing that fully integrated accounting solutions weren’t doing the job for the small clients — for example, sole proprietorships. So the firm started looking for an accounting software that would make daily life easier for exactly this client group.

Simplifying the processes

Digitising accounting processes is about integrating banking and accounting services and creating a flow of receipts in a completely different way than before. But for the smallest businesses, advanced accounting software with lots of extra features can often be more of a hindrance than a help.

— For the fully integrated systems to work optimally for this client group too, we had to spend a lot of time on administrative work like scanning receipts. With Siffer, these clients get their books done the way they want, without being forced to follow a specific workflow, says Rolf Inge Orholm, managing director at RegnskapsPartner AS.

He elaborates:

— For example, bank reconciliation isn’t required for sole proprietorships, so we don’t need to do it the cumbersome way in an integrated system that requires you to record bank transactions.

— By moving the small clients to Siffer, we can either choose to continue as before — that is, key in the receipts and keep the paper — or we can pull in the bank statement and book against that. And not least, the client can enter the documentation themselves.

Both time and money saved with a cloud solution

For RegnskapsPartner, the move to Siffer meant going from an on-prem solution to a cloud-based one, which meant the firm not only got an easier IT day-to-day, but could also shed unnecessary costs, says Rolf Inge Orholm.

— Even a small firm like ours saves about 15,000–20,000 NOK per month by getting rid of ASP solutions. On top of that, it’s much easier to log into a website than to maintain a heap of vendors and third-party agreements for ASP solutions.

But it isn’t just RegnskapsPartner that’s happy with the new accounting software. Feedback from the clients has been good too, he continues.

— Very many people running sole proprietorships and small businesses in Norway want to spend as little energy and money as possible on bookkeeping. They’re not interested in paying 6,000–7,000 NOK for an accounting system, and Siffer is a very good alternative for this group.

Good follow-up all the way

Rolf Inge Orholm is very pleased with the partnership they’ve had with Siffer so far.

— There’s been good follow-up all the way. We had a little snag the other day around setup and the organisation number, and the folks from Siffer didn’t go home until it was fixed. That was very reassuring for us.
